Plum Sunny!

Hello everyone!

Long time no see. Things have just been a blur around here. Expecting our little one very soon, so you can imagine that there's tons of preparing going on.

I took a hiatus from blogging for a while, as I wanted to focus on my health and the baby's health. Now that doesn't mean I haven't been busy at the computer working on my design stuff. I am in the process of applying with a Digital Scrapbooking online store, so I won't be offering the whole kit just yet. I figured in the meantime, it would be ok to go ahead and put some quickpages for sale.

Without further ado... I introduce to you Plum Sunny Quick Pages!!!

There are six quickpages in total, and the package will be selling for only $3.00!!! WOW!

Since this is just on a regular ol' blog (and I do need to sleep at some point), please allow approximately 24 hours from payment to receive the links. Make sure your email address is included in the notes section of your paypal payment, so that I'll know where to send them. As always, thank you all for your support. I look forward to sharing something new soon!!!

xoxoxo,
Liz

Hand Made Christmas

Hello Everyone. I wanted to share some of the stuff I made for Christmas this year. Just like everyone else, cash was a little tight. I figured that I might be able to make a Christmas gift, that would hopefully be as nice as anything I could buy in the store.

Here's a Makeup bag I made for my little sister. I bought some linen fabric at Jo-ann's and hand embroidered the design with embroidery floss. I cut the flower out of felt, and stitched it to the bag with her initial in the center of the flower. That was the easy part. The sewing is the hard part for me. I'm not a seamstress, by any means at all, so actually putting the whole thing together was the real test. I added a heart shaped bead to the zipper pull as a cute little accent.

Here is a Frame that I made for my little brother. He's a poker dealer, so I knew I wanted to make him something with a poker theme.

I aged a deck of cards with some walnut ink, and bought a Frame and large uncut photo mat from Hobby Lobby. I arranged the cards into the shape of a Spade and glued them all down.

I have to say, I really think that they liked these two gifts more than they've ever liked anything that I've bought. I loved making them and I'm glad that they turned out well.

This year was the most relaxed Christmas I've had in a very long time. There wasn't any freaking out about what to buy, or if I could afford it. There wasn't even any time spent running around the mall. That in itself is amazing!

Who knows? I might even make this a tradition.

Faye is still here... :-(

Well, Everyone,

Tropical Storm Faye isn't done with us yet. The Home Owners people finally got someone over to our house to look at the damage from our leaking windows (TS Faye Damage). They're saying there's all kinds of rot and stuff that needs to be replaced. From what they've seen, it's going to cost them about 25k to fix. Thank God for insurance! They're telling us it's going to take approximately two months to get everything back to normal. That puts us in the middle of Christmas with holes in our wall....Fantastic. Not much else to say about that. Here's a couple pics of what the windows look like now.

Sorry if the pictures aren't the best quatlity. my husband took them with his phone.

Christmas Cards

Hi Everyone,

This year will be the first year I send out Christmas cards. I figured, I'm married now, and it's about time I start sending them out. I decided to hand make them, versus the store bought ones. Mostly because I found a really cute stamp online that totally inspired me. It looks very much like the circle in the center, but I changed the words and kept the look of the whole thing. I made the design in Photoshop and made two extra one's for the card front. It was super easy to do and I just printed a bunch on a sheet of white cardstock for each design. Then I cut them out with my Nestabilities and distressed and inked everything.... Take a look!

Nestabilities Storage!!

Hi Everyone!

I promised I'd show you my Nestabilities storage and here it is, at last. I absolutely love the way everything is held in place but pretty at the same time. I made a 6 x 6 inch book using a posterboard (for added sturdiness), some patterned paper that I got from Hobby Lobby at 4/$1, and some Bazzill cardstock.

I cut the posterboard, patterned paper and cardstock into 6 x 6 sheets and glued it all together, alternating the patterned and cardstock papers. I made 11 pages total including the covers.

I then used some Magnetic sheets that I got from Office Depot and cut those into 4 x 4 in squares. The one's I got are adhesive-backed so I didn't have to worry about what type of glue to use to hold them to the paper.

I cut out some 4 x 4 inch sheets from the papers and covered the magnet sheets. They don't need to be covered, I just thought they were prettier this way.

I inked the edges of the sheets and smaller squares to give it a little something extra. I put the small squares on the pages not holding the Nestabilities, just as a buffer for them. They're going to rub up against the facing pages, so I figured I would add something a little more substantial than just the patterned paper. It also gives the book a more unified look because the pattern is repeated from page to page, only alternating the papers.

I used one of the leather strap closures that are made to be used with the Bind it All, and so far I have to say I LOVE IT. For me, it's the perfect closure for the book. It's not flimsy or hard to open and close.

I put the whole book together with my Bind It All...Can I say again how much I LOVE THAT THING!!!

If you're looking into getting yourself one, get the pink one. Not just cause it's pink (which I think is so cute), but because it punches through thicker materials and has extra features.

I have used this think tons since I put it together and it's really holding up very well. I love that I can flip through my book and see what I have.

Well, I hope you all like my storage system for these bad boys. I'd LOVE to see if anyone makes one of these for themselves. It's always really cool to see the different ways people can make the same thing, into something that is totally their own!

Layouts and a Mini Album

Hey Everyone!

I have been sooo bad about posting lately...sorry. i promise I'll try to do better. Below are some pics of stuff I've done. Some old, some new. I haven't taken the pics of my nestabilities storage yet but I will this weekend. PROMISE!!

Here are some pics of a few layouts I've done. Mostly my stuff tends to be on the simpler side. There are two layouts that have a bunch of stuff on them... I don't know what happened there, but I really like them that way. I wish I could do that all of the time, but unfortunately, I'm just not blessed that way. I'll sit for HOURS and end up with a picture a flower and a swirl....woohooo.....how exciting. Oh well, it's my style I guess. A girl can dream though can't she?
